nodeQ is proud to announce that our CEO and Founder, Professor Stefano Pirandola, has been shortlisted for a prestigious IET Achievement Medal 2025, awarded by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
The IET Achievement Medals celebrate exceptional individuals who have made outstanding contributions to engineering and technology. Being shortlisted places Professor Pirandola among an inspiring group of global innovators recognised for shaping the future of science and technology.
About Professor Stefano Pirandola
Stefano Pirandola is a Professor at the University of York and Founder of nodeQ, a deep-tech company developing AI-powered quantum networking software. He has authored nearly 200 peer-reviewed papers and is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to quantum technologies, spanning quantum computing, security, sensing, and metrology.
His groundbreaking research has established the fundamental limits of quantum communication, defining the ultimate rates for quantum key distribution, teleportation, and entanglement distribution across channels, repeater chains, and complex network architectures. Today, his work continues to shape the design and deployment of next-generation quantum communication infrastructure, bridging rigorous academic research with practical innovations for global impact.
“It’s a great honour to be shortlisted for an IET Achievement Medal,” said Professor Pirandola. “This recognition reflects the collective effort of the nodeQ team and our mission to bring transformative quantum technologies from theory into practice.”
Winners of the IET Achievement Medals will be announced on 17 October 2025, during the IET’s annual celebration of engineering excellence.
