What is the IQN Hub?
The IQN Hub is a UK-based initiative dedicated to the development of secure, large-scale quantum networks. Led by a consortium of 13 prestigious universities, 2 national laboratories, and more than 40 global industry leaders, the IQN Hub is at the forefront of research and innovation in quantum communications. The initiative plays a crucial role in shaping the future of secure data exchange, aiming to establish the foundational technology for a scalable and resilient quantum internet.
Quantum networking is a revolutionary concept that leverages the principles of quantum mechanics to enable ultra-secure data transmission. Unlike classical networks, where information is transmitted using bits that can be intercepted and manipulated, quantum networks utilize quantum entanglement and quantum key distribution (QKD) to ensure unparalleled security. Beyond QKD and security, the IQN Hub is also advancing entanglement distribution for distributed quantum computing.
